The Compassion Cultivation Training program (CCT©) was developed at the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) by a team of contemplative scholars, clinical psychologists, and researchers. The program unfolds during eight weeks and is designed to develop the qualities of compassion, empathy, and kindness for oneself and for others. CCT integrates traditional contemplative practices with contemporary psychology and scientific research on compassion and offers tools to strengthen compassion and to improve the way we relate to ourselves and others, recognizing the feelings of giving and receiving compassion, and intentionally choosing compassionate thoughts and actions.
